I am attracted to alternative photographic ways particularly pinhole photography due to its features of being transformative and unpredictable. It reflects authenticity in an unexpected way. My self portraits are exploration of self, aesthetics, time, and stillness.

“Ugural’s work considers her studies, but reflects on womanhood by being a mirror of herself, too.” Alice Vincent, The Telegraph

“Sebnem Ugural’s ‘Pinhole’ offers a striking insight into the individual and universal soul of womanhood.” Jess Denham, The Independent
